Ancient Soul –

Maui Dream – A groove that came to me in a dream on Maui. Luckily I had some staff paper next to bed, and I quickly wrote it down. Months later, back on the mainland, I opened a notebook and the pages fell out. It was the piece from the dream! Like most dreams, I had completely forgotten about it come morning.

Haleakala – Composed on a decent into Haleakala caldera on Maui.

Emerald Pool – High on the eastern slopes of the island, above a series of waterfalls and pools tumbling down to the sea, lies an emerald pool reached on foot through bamboo forests and Jurassic ferns. I was rushed by a wild boar as this piece came to me.

Seashells in Sanibel – Composed on a joyful day at the shore.

Desert Night – In the Mohave Desert, the night sky can be experienced in its natural appearance, away from man-made light. Bucket list.

Waitin for the Rain – Composed in Sarasota as I waited for a gathering storm. The look of the sky, the scent of rain, the feel of the changing atmosphere, and the drama of mother nature inspired me.

Safe from the Storm – Written on Sanibel Island as a huge storm tore up the beach outside my window.

Constellation – Inspired by recurring out-of-body experiences that happened to me when I was a child in grade school.
